High-end technology, like Genius ™ 3D ™, is used for mammograms and only the best technicians have been hired for breast diagnostics.

WE OFFER MANY SERVICES THAT INVOLVE PROACTIVE AND PREVENTATIVE TREATMENT.

(2D AND/OR 3D ™ MAMMOGRAMS

American Cancer society guidelines recommend women, age 40 and older, receive a routine screening mammogram every year. Mammograms can often detect potential problems before they can be felt. Fortunately 3D ™ mamography can find problems even earlier.

DIAGNOSTIC BREAST IMAGING

Diagnostic breast imaging is a separate service which happens after the mammograms are taken by the technicians. The images are re-used to detect the differences between normal and abnormal structures. Abnormal structures in the breast tissue can be diagnosed as diseases like cancer or cysts.

BONE DENSITY EXAMS (DEXA)

DEXA scans are used to measure bone density and assess the risk of bone fractures. They're often used to help diagnose bone-related conditions such as osteoporosis (or the risk of it). Many factors play into bone density loss, like family history, lifestyle, and medications. Women should start screening at age 50 for bone density loss.

ULTRASOUND SCREENING

An imaging method that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of structures within your body. It can visualize internal organs, vessels, soft tissues and joints.

SCHEDULING

Schedule your appointment one week after your menstrual cycle. Let us know if you are nursing, might be pregnant, have any breast health complaints / concerns, or family history of breast cancer. Please tell us if and where you have had previous mammograms, breast surgeries, breast implants or biopsies. Have your insurance card (if applicable) and the name of your primary health care providers (no order is required for a routine screening mammogram).

MAMMOGRAMS

Your mammogram will be performed in a private suite by a female technologist. This private setting along with the spa-like atmosphere will help lessen any anxieties you may have. Multiple images of each breast will be taken, during which your breast is being briefly compressed. Some women experience minor discomfort while others experience none at all. Once all images are taken, a board-certified radiologist will interpret your mammogram. Both you and the ordering physician will receive a copy of the finalized report .

EXAM PREP

Avoid caffeine for five days prior to your appointment to reduce breast tenderness. Avoid wearing deodorant, powder, lotion or perfume under your arms or on your breasts, as these can interfere with accurate reading of the images. (Moist towelettes and deodorant are available for use before and after your exam.) Wear a comfortable, 2 piece outfit as you will be asked to remove your top prior to the exam (a robe will be provided).
